Have you ever wondered “how many words is five pages double-spaced?” When there are multiple points to include with a limited words in your account to spend, knowing how many words will fit on a page is a smart way to plan your writing. 
A standard formatted 5 pages (double-spaced) of 1,250 words is made up of 12 font, Times New Roman / Arial, 0.5 inch margins. This estimate is based on an average of 250 words per page. Should your formatting vary, the word count per page will be off slightly.
These are universally agreed upon numbers on this level, with five pages single-spaced typing averaging 2,500 words and five pages again, typeless coming in at an average of 1,250 words. Novices may be counted in the font face, the size of fonts, or the margin width, but in either professional or scholarly text, 1,250 would be the count of the usual five pages of double-spacing.
